Sugar Beet Molasses
Sugar beet molasses, a valuable by-product of sugar production, contains 40–50% sugar by weight. Its effectiveness as an additive in animal feed production is proven, as it provides energy, minerals and organic nutrients in a concentrated form. Thanks to its high palatability, it increases feed intake in cows and cattle, reduces dust and stabilises pellets. This makes sugar beet molasses a versatile and economical source of raw materials for feed manufacturers.
In addition, sugar beet molasses serves as a nutrient-rich substrate for microorganisms in the fermentation industry. It provides energy, minerals, and growth factors for the production of alcohol, organic acids, antibiotics, enzymes, and other biotechnological products.
Key specifications of sugar beet molasses include a dry matter content of 75–80%, as well as levels of potassium and nitrogen compounds, which determine its suitability for different animal species and formulations. Standard grades containing around 40% sugar are suitable for compound feed, whereas high-quality industrial grades containing up to 50% sugar are used for specialised applications.
